Necklace

Trixi's necklace
Trixi's necklace

It's Sunday afternoon and I am almost done with the move, I wanted to say a quick hi in between all the cleaning and carrying boxes and show you the necklace I got from Trixi the other day. You might have seen them here and here and now she is also selling them in her own little store. Have a look.

Have a wonderful start into the week.

It is Monday already. The weekend went by so fast, don't you think.

I hope you had some lovely few days...
The weather was so beautiful here in Sydney yesterday that I went out for a long walk, sat in the park, read and realized that the city is getting greener and greener and also gets this special glow.

#1+2 Again the great Single Origin Café, apart from the coffee they do amazing lunch, too.
#3 some dots
#4+5 Pictures I took yesterday while walking through Paddington. I loved the glow of the trees in the streets there.
#6 I got myself a little something in this pretty store. An analog reminder in form of a wooden pear. It can carry little notes.
#7 A sewing project I am working on....

Here are a few images from my last two days.

#1-4 I was out for a walk in Elizabeth Bay - saw a great house wearing a 'green eyemask' and a cobweb which looked like it was lots of work:) Walking there I stumbled over a nice wooden chair, standing there with all sorts of other stuff ready to end up in the trash. I took it with me, cleaned it, oiled the wood and put new fabric on it. I already love it.

# 5/6 I also wanted to show you two of the little bags I made for friends. They are so easy to make and it is so much fun to put fabric together and sew it.

# 7/8 I like how those two images sort of fit together. They look so much like Spring. The rich green, brown and light pink. I saw this tree full with berries today, the berries will turn darker and you can actually eat them. You just need to be faster than the birds.

9-12 A few more shots I took around Surry Hills. If you are in Sydney, make sure you have a coffee at Single Origin. They roast their own beens and you can really taste it. Such good coffee.

#13 A snack I just made. I am trying to track down a store here at which you could actually buy goat cheese with a rind.

How are you this week?

Bedroom

The weekend is already over here and I just talked to my family via Skype which became a nice Sunday tradition to see them after their lunch and after our dinner. Those time differences seem sometimes just so crazy to me.

I took this image on Friday morning. I like how a bed can sometimes be so inviting in nice morning light. Like it says to you -'come with your book and join me for a little while longer'... Does your bed do such things to you sometimes too? :)

Saturday was rainy here and I tried my luck and went to the flea market in Surry Hills which seems not to take place when it is raining. I can't wait to browse around the stalls when it gets Spring here...We watched the documentary "Man on Wire" in the evening. I missed to watch it in the cinemas and wanted to see it for quiet a while. It is such a touching and beautiful movie. I loved the footage they showed and also the more than beautiful images they took while Phillippe Petit was living his dream.

I finished a pillow cover I wanted to make for quiet a while, today. I am very happy with it and will show you soon how it looks like.

I hope your weekend is/was great....
Have a wonderful start into the week

Maria

A Monday off

Monday fruits
Monday mail
Monday sun
Monday feet on the balcony
Monday tea
...

....
Monday comfy clothes
Monday surprise ...

How nice to have a Monday off...

I spent the whole weekend at this festival for work...and it was quiet exhausting and I didn't get so much sleep so I enjoyed having this Monday off and getting lots of sleep, drinking tea, eating cake and sitting on the balcony in the sun with my friend and getting some great new magazines to read.
I missed out getting the first issues of the Apartamento magazines and Will organized them for me. I was quiet happy when the postman rang at my door today having them in his hands..I can't wait to read in them...

I am listening to some of the music right now which I saw live on the weekend. Oh and I got this small rabbit pin there too...check their shop they make such great illustrations...

Hope you are all well!

#2 We just walked along the neighbourhoods and stumbled over an yellow arrow and found....
#3 this beautiful studio open. These two ladies make really great shirts, dresses, scarves and curtains with some beautiful screen-prints on them..
#4 We kept on walking had ice-cream and ended up at the flea market to look at all the nice little stalls and the things they were selling...I saw this Hamburg photobook from the 70's and became a bit melancholy while looking through it...I will miss this city...
#5 I needed to take a picture of this sign of an old furniture store...

Have a wonderful week

On my way back from Copenhagen to Hamburg

On Sunday whe drove along the sea to the Museum of Modern Art in Louisiana. It is a beautiful space with a wonderful garden around it in which you can sit, feel the sea breeze, rest, look at the sea and just feel free after you've seen all the great art in the museum.
They had the "Louisiana Colour in Art" exhibition running which I quiet liked. The instillation Gleaming lights of the Souls by Yayoi Kusama was my personal favourite. You come into a small room not bigger than 8 sqm which is mirrored on all four sides, with a shallow pool of water on the floor. A changing constellation of small lights hanging from the ceiling produce an amazing chain of an endless seeming reflection. Magical.
After having a tea in their cafè we walked a long the sea, had an ice cream - and where thinking what we could make for dinner. : )
The weekend went by so fast and I had such a great time spending it with my dear friends.
It will take a bit until I will be in Copenhagen again...but I will come back for sure.

On my way to Hamburg on Monday I saw a dramatic sky the whole train ride long which couldn't decide to be bright or cloudy.
